Wind and solar are fast becoming the leading sources of renewable energy. Kalahari Greentech designs, produces and provides wind turbines, solar collectors and other sustainable energy technologies. Kalahari's Solar Collector is a three-part “tri-brid” system that increases the efficiency of solar collection in one cost-effective unit.

According to the American Wind Energy Association, the U.S. Department of Energy announced a goal of obtaining 6% of U.S. electricity from wind by 2020. From 1990 — 2002, wind has been the fastest-growing power source worldwide on a percentage basis, with an annual average growth rate exceeding 30%. An average U.S. household uses about 10,655 kilowatt-hours of electricity each year. One megawatt of wind energy can generate 2.4 to more than 3 million kilowatt-hours per year. At the end of 2009, the installed capacity of wind power in the United States was just over 35,000 megawatts.
